Climate and clothes in the State of Illinois

Illinois borders on the Great Lakes to the northeast, this region of the state has Chicago. Rockford is located in the north of the state, and Springfield is located in the center of the state. Besides these major cities, Illinois has famous tourist attractions, such as Starved Rock State Park. This canyon-filled park has unique geological features and many tourists visit every year.
Illinois is located inland and stretches long in a north-south, so the climate varies widely. (About 400 miles in north and south and about 200 miles in east and west.) The further north we go, the temperature becomes colder and the amount of snow increase. Summers are typically hot and humid throughout the state, while winters generally range from cool to cold.

Summers are hot, with average temperatures reaching mid-70s °F. A T-shirt, tank top and short-sleeved shirt are a common sight in the summer, however, the temperature is cooler toward the north. In winter, average temperatures are below freezing from December to February in the cities previously mentioned, a very warm winter coat is needed. Although spring and fall is a good season to visit, you need to adjust your clothes depending on various conditions such as location, weather and temperature.
